She looked tiny, she stood huddled with her shoulders up and her arms wrapped tightly around her leaned forward slightly making her appear much younger and smaller then she was. Her large eyes were dark and wild, filled with terror. A terror Lucas instantly felt he wanted to replace. No woman should look this hurt. Flakes of silver were sprinkled in her eyes telling Lucas what she was. She was a converted. Could she be the murderer?

As quickly as the thought came Lucas dismissed it. He could see her. He could see the lack of a killer and the mind of a woman lost. Watching as she stepped back he felt his heart tighten in his chest. There was no way she was the one responsible for the killings.

Blood covered her clothes as her feet moved through the small lining of snow fresh on the ground.

“Stay away!” The woman ordered with a mix of fear and pushed anger into her voice. Her limbs shook violently as she moved further back and away from him.

“Lucas, there’s no one here. But man does it smell. I see blood and puddles of vomit. And restraints. God the smell.” Rupert gagged.

“Calm down.” Lucas took a step forward. The woman inched back. Her eyes slid towards the river. “Whatever you’re thinking, don’t.” Lucas spoke reaching out towards her mind instantly to stop her from doing something reckless. The moment he touched her mind he saw the struggle she had gone through and the pain that was coursing through her

The thoughts and feelings running through her knocked the wind out of him. They were raw and alive striking at him like hundreds of bees their stingers all aimed to numb and incapacitate him, but he held it together. His face never flinched as he endured the rolling wave of fire burning through her— and him. They felt it together and for that one moment he breathed with her, willing her a second of peace as they let out their breath into the cold night.

Her will and determination to survive was strong. She shouldn’t have even been standing in her condition. Lucas tightened his grip on her mind to take control. He needed her to stop before something bad happened. He needed to reach her and tame the demon roaring in the back of his mind at the man that had grabbed her, because he could see everything. He could feel everything done to her and he was outraged and distressed by it. By the feelings flooding his mind and turning his body against him in this moment in which he needed to be at his best. Alert and unshakable, but he was the opposite. And as he reached to her mind to help he saw their connection in her eyes followed by her instinct and knew he was too late.

Bethany knew what was coming. She knew her body wouldn’t be hers anymore if she waited any longer. Without a second’s hesitation she launched herself into the dark waters of the fast moving river. This was her only choice. The only thing she was capable of deciding for herself. There were no regrets as her body locked up instantly and her eyes closed.

     Lucas did the only thing he could do, jump in the freezing river after her.

About the author:

Brenda Franklin was born and raised in Louisiana surrounded by fantasy, romance, and the paranormal. She's always had a love for writing, having written her first horror story before middle school about a monster that devoured people in the night-I believe they call him the Boogie Man.

Brenda points the blame/thanks for her obsessive need to write and read about vampires to her father who had an old bookshelf in their living room when she was growing up. From top to bottom it was filled with combat related books, old westerns, books by Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and Brian Lumley, and many more fascinating reads. But the book Brenda remembers the most was ‘Interview with a Vampire’ by Anne Rice. After reading it, she's never been the same since.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!!

I’ll start off by saying that this is a book series I would recommend reading from the first book, Love Lines. I think you would be a little lost just stepping into the world of Love Lines without a little background, but none the less Diana has done a great job trying to fill you in.

This book is done the POV of my favorite characters!! The wonderful couple Eileen and Christian, and my next two loves, Evan and Amanda. Powerful bonds connect all of these characters.

In the beginning Diana picks up right where we left off, Evan is dying! (SPOILER!) He’s not so much dying as he is evolving. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes Evan is becoming more powerful and unfortunately Eileen is enduring this transformation with him. Talk about intense. They are pretty much cut off from the outside world and having to endure 12 days of pain, while Eileen catches glimpse of Evan’s past. What could all these dream mean and when he wakes up what powers will he have? Don’t worry though because he’s the same charming, smart ass that we have all come to love so much and those new found powers will come in handy.

During this book I think characters are really developing. I always love Eileen’s strength and courage and love for her friends and now Amanda is working her way up the ladder and into my heart more. But what I didn’t see coming was the end. Talk about pulling my heart strings. It was worth it. It’s always worth it.

Bonds will grow, pasts and connections are made, and a lot is revealed in this installment of the Love Lines Series. It’s a book you don’t want to miss and it makes me feel like I’m reading one of the Harry Potter books, just one isn’t enough. I need them all!

(character): “what would I say? Touch me? Kiss me? Make love to me?”

“Evan: “Yeah, why not?”

Oh man, this made me laugh and at the same time my heart was beating fast. God, how I wanted them to connect again with passion… okay, that’s enough of that scene. You will just have to read the book to find out what’s going on. J

Okay… one more scene:

“In your dreams!” I snapped, turning to the door.

“You’re seen my dreams, Baby. I don’t talk much there.”

Haha they crack me up!!

I led him into the foyer and shut the door behind him. He followed me to the dining room and when I sat, he took the seat beside me. He caught my eyes and raised his brows expectantly.

Book One: The Forgotten Ones

Allison O’Malley’s goal is to live a happy life give her mom as much support as she can give her. She doesn’t have time for romance and over complications with a mother who is suffering from schizophrenia and has been taken care of by her grandparents.

But what Allison wants may be up for discussion when her long lost father appears bringing with him the possibility of her mother getting better, but there’s a catch. There’s always a catch. With the return of her father comes hard to believe stories that involve the Tuatha de Danaan, which is hard to swallow until you meet the amazing cast of characters and the abilities they have. Yep, I’m a believer officially after someone begins to read my thoughts and use glamour spells. Sold.

The first 20 % was a bit slower than I would have liked, but it was character building none the less. Just stay with it! Very quickly I fell for Ethan, I loved (Niamh), I disagreed with Allison about sending Liam away at first, and couldn’t get enough out of the Tir na n’Og and the overall plot line.

This was certainly different from my average reads and well worth it. And the great thing is there’s a pronunciation key at the end of the book! Names like Aoife (Ay-fuh. evil witch of a woman!), Eithne (En-ya. Sweet and almost human like), and Aodhan (Ay-den. gotta love him.). I would have never figured it out without them. Well, some of them maybe, but for the most part no. So thank you so much for the help Laura. :)

Overall, this was a wonderful and magically filled book that I’m glad I ended up reading. If you haven’t picked up your copy, what’s stopping you?

Book Two: Stone Of Destiny

Allison O’Malley’s life changed when her father, a man she had seen all her life, suddenly showed up at her doorstep bringing with him the world of Tuatha de Danaan (Faries) and the answer as to why her mother is suffering from schizophrenia. Teaming up with magical people Allison is in the race against the clock to unravel  Aoife’s plot before anyone else is hurt.

In this book it picks up right where we left off in the second, so if you haven’t read it STOP RIGHT NOW!! You need to go back and enjoy the first one to truly understand to the fullest what is going on.

Ethan, a guy who Allison deeply cares for, is acting funny and it may be a person closer to home who is the culprit. And what do you mean Allison has a half-sister?! Who can be trusted as new characters step into Allison’s world forcing Liam and the gang to act faster, but is it a trap and how the heck are they going to survive this?

Yep, I was biting my nails to figure out what was going on. I stayed rooted in my chair until I no longer had feeling in my bum for this book and let me tell you it was worth it! Every agonizing, story building, fun, and plot developing second was well worth the wait.

The world that Laura Howard has created is fun, captivating, and darn it all, makes me want to join the Tuatha de Danaan. With characters that will leave you irritated, awed, and loved I can’t possibly imagine what she will do next to them and to us, the readers. But one thing is for certain, I’ll be in line for book three in this series to find out!

I stand up slowly and begin to fight what I’m about to do. I beg myself to sit down, look away, anything, but instead I trail up to her. She doesn’t flinch, doesn't shudder; strangely, her eyes stay locked onto mine. I take the extra towel from her and draw her body to mine. I hear her left out a small gasp, and I can tell her heart rate has quickened. I bring a hand to her face, letting it trail from her cheek to her neck, all the way to the back of her head. I pull her in for a kiss. A proper one. That feeling I felt before returns as something inside me nearly loses control. My legs begin to feel weak as I realize that she’s kissing me back. It’s as soon as my tongue flickers over hers that I really feel I may lose it. I pull away for a moment and close my eyes. “This is how it’s supposed to be,” I mumble to her. I work to keep myself under control, I remind myself to keep a slower pace, not to rush. I catch a sudden wave of Red’s feelings…the want and need is there, and it makes it more difficult to control myself. I try to relax, remind myself to pace myself but when Red pushes her body into mine, I fully lose any control that I had. Her arms fly around my neck and I do nothing to stop her. Her lips find mine as her hands reach for my belt buckle. She wastes no time in unbuckling and unzipping my jeans. I reach for the last towel and yank it from her body as she pulls my tee shirt off and throws it across the room. She wraps her arms around me again and lets her lips find mine as I wrap my arms around her, lifting her in one swift movement. Her legs immediately cinch around my waist and I steady myself quickly as I push her against the nearest wall. She moans loudly and I feel her nails dig into my back briefly. I begin biting tenderly down her neck in a way that leaves tiny little marks but enough to make her groan with pleasure. I feel all self-control leave my body as I steady her against the wall and begin using my strength to lift her upwards as I move my mouth down her body. I feel her hands tug at my hair as I clamp my teeth down on one of her nipples. She releases another moan and I feel her breathing become choppy as I work my way down her core; kissing, biting, licking, and unable to control myself. I finally find myself in a squat position, I quickly adjust Red’s over my shoulders and I feel her shake. Everything in me wants to have her, every single piece of her right this minute. I need her. Not to just satisfy the raw animal craving that his built up inside me, but because I need every piece of the one thing that I ever wanted and needed so badly. I slow my kisses past her belly button and move to her inner thighs. I look up at her and her eyes catch my gaze. She’s breathing heavily, her legs begin to tremble more as I steady her against the wall as I drop to my knees to maintain my own balance. She is an Air Force spouse and mother to two mischievous and rambunctious little girls. EXCERPT

She slipped past him, and onto the wings of the stage. Her gaze fell on Mr. Voice who was tall, dark and smokin’ hot.

Holy shit, I want to lick him.

Scuffed combat boots were laced up over black leather pants that clung to muscular thighs, and his black shirt molded to the most impressive set of abs she had ever seen. Roxy wanted to trace the ridges with her fingertips.

He turned, his voice dropping low as his eyes locked on hers. His words enveloped her. “… you’re the only one.”

Her heart paused a beat before slamming into her chest at a rapid pace. His full mouth lifted into a grin that spoke of confidence as he held her full attention. Entranced, she fell deep into his eyes and the world stopped.

Until a drumstick hit him in the head. He looked over his shoulder and shrugged sheepishly at his drummer before turning back to launch into the next verse.

Mikey gently shook her shoulder. “Hey, Rox, come on. We have to warm up.”

Her head bobbed in a nod at her brother, but she didn't look over. She muttered, “Yeah, give me a minute,” or longer.

As if he heard, Mr. Voice glanced over and winked at her before the next song started. “Blinded by beauty, falling at first sight, head over heels…” There was raw passion in his voice, and she couldn't help wishing he was singing about her.
